The time has arrived to re-open the ordering for Subway and pizza programs for the remainder of the school year. These programs are great ways to support the fundraising efforts of the Alta Vista School Council in order to enrich the environment for all students at AVPS. These fundraising lunch programs are available to all students at AVPS, from Kindergarten to grade 8.
The last Subway day for the current session is Friday, February 9. The next session will run every Friday, except holidays and PA days, from February 23 to June 21 (a total of 15 Fridays).
Six-inch turkey, ham or veggie sandwiches are prepared on whole-grain bread and can include cheddar cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, mustard and/or mayonnaise. The 15-week session costs $97.50. Since sandwiches are customized, they must be ordered during the ordering period, and will not be available to purchase for cash individually.

The last day of delivery for the current pizza program is February 26. The new session will run every Monday that school is open, from March 4 to June 24 (a total of 14 Mondays).
You can choose between plain cheese pizza, pepperoni, veggie (green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes), or gluten-smart with plant-based cheese, and select 1 or 2 slices per child. The cost remains the same at $2.50 per slice, therefore the 14 week program has a total cost of $35 per slice. The slices ordered will be delivered to your student’s homeroom class for first lunch, at 11:10am.
If you do not sign up for this program, students in grade 1-8 still have the option to pay $2.50 cash at the school kitchen to buy a slice any Monday. This cash for a slice program is unfortunately not available to Kindergarten students.

Don’t miss this! Buy your tickets to see the Ottawa 67’s play the Erie Otters for a cross-border match on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00pm with families and friends of Alta Vista Public School students.
The 67’s have reserved a block of tickets that are on sale now for $25 each and will be available until Thursday, February 22 at noon. Note that children need to be accompanied by an adult. Buy your tickets now, before they sell out! Every ticket sold will greatly benefit our entire AVPS school community.

The 67’s play at TD Place in Lansdowne Park at the corner of Holmwood Ave. and Bank St. There is limited indoor parking available (advance reservations recommended), a free shuttle bus from Carleton University, as well as free service by OC Transpo.
